Tie Pin and Tie Clip

Tie Clasp

The tie clasp (also known as a tie clip) is a  necktie accessory that attaches a tie to the dress shirt, and keeps the tie hangs straight and secured through most situations. The tie clasp should be placed approximately two-thirds of the way down the front of a necktie.  Tie clips are usually made of metal, sometimes even of precious metals (silver and gold). Often tie clips have minor decorative patterns (crystals or even gems).
You would clasp the tie clasp horizontally across your tie along with a chain and stem which are placed through the buttonhole of a dress shirt for anchoring. It should always be shorter than three-quarters of the tie's width. If it is not, you should get a smaller pin or a wider tie. There is a wide choice in regard to the shape, the length or the material that the tie clips are made of. The material you choose makes a great difference to the overall appearance of the tie clasp.

Tie clasp is not so much an ornament as a necessary and functional piece toilet. The tie clasp are of different forms and can be made of different materials. Very often they are merely a decorative element, trademark, but may be a sign of distinction.
